Health & Safety / Key Requests

The health and safety are a top priority, and the department is committed to ensuring that all graduate students are well-prepared to safely participate in classes, research activities, and projects.

As part of this commitment, all students are required to complete mandatory health and safety training modules. These sessions are designed to provide students with the knowledge and tools needed to work safely in academic and research environments.

All required training must be completed by the end of the second month of the first term of study

How to Complete Your Training

Please follow these steps:

  1. Access and complete the required training modules here:

  2. Download your proof of completion.
  3. Upload proof of completion to the Health & Safety tracking form in Kuali:
    https://uwo.kualibuildca.com/app/69d663506c0ddf02899fb1f0/run

Failure to complete the required health & safety training can result in your student account being sealed. To unseal your account, you will be required to pay a $50 fee and show proof that you completed all required training.

Note: the Workplace Hazards Communication form must be completed by all research-based students supervisor and can be found in the chart below.

Key Requests: To request and receive keys to labs and other rooms, you must first complete the required Health and Safety Training courses relevant to your role in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering. Sign in with your UWO credentials to request a key.
